National Trust for Historic Preservation Sign in front of Pickett Chapel Methodist Church.
Built in 1827, this is the oldest brick building in Lebanon. Services were held here for about 150 years. After a short run as a community theater, the building remained vacant for a couple of decades. In 2007, the building was purchased by the Wilson County Black History Committee and has received a grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The committee has converted the building to become the Roy Bailey African American History Center. It is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
