On the right is the foundation stone of the county's first courthouse which was in use from 1807-1811. In the middle in front if the foundation stone of the second courthouse which was in use from 1811-1858. Next, on the left is the Foundation Stone of the third courthouse which was in use from 1858 to 1897. All of these are located in front of the foundation stone of Warren County's fourth and current courthouse which was built in 1897. The courthouse is located in the middle of the town square in McMinnville. The final marker which is in the middle at the back is in honor of Elisha Pepper II who was the first white settler in Warren County in the year 1800. He was the Son of Elisha Pepper I who was a Revolutionary War soldier who was killed at the Battle of Kings Mountain, SC in 1780. This monument was erected by Pepper's descendants during America's Bicentennial in 1976.
