One of the most important spots in the history of Fayetteville, TN was the old Stone Bridge. That bridge was built in 1861 at a length of 450 feet over the Elk River, saved from destruction in the Civil War, but was finally tumbled by flooding in 1969. In 1997, the city established Stone Bridge Memorial Park, and in June, 2000 unveiled this 36 foot replica about 1000 feet from the original.
