With TVA's construction of Kentucky Lake, which turned the Tennessee River into Kentucky Lake, most of the city of Danville on the riverbank was submerged. However, this freight elevator, which was perhaps the most important building in town, still rises up out of the water. Today, anyone in a boat can travel up to it to see it.
