THE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE SPOONS
AND THE BIG BAD KNIFE
Once upon a time there were three little spoons. They
all lived in the
silverware drawer in the kitchen with their mother spoon
and father
spoon.
Now one day the mother spoon and father spoon called the
three little
spoons to them and said: "It is time for you to go out
into the world
and find your own place settings. Remember to always be
careful of
strange silverware."
The first little spoon found a bowl of ice cream and said
"This is for
me! I will jump into this bowl of ice cream and help little
boys and
girls eat it!"
The second little spoon found a bowl of porridge and said
"This is for
me! I will jump into this bowl of porridge and help little
boys and
girls eat it!"
The last little spoon found a bowl of cereal and said
"This is for me!
I will jump into this bowl of cereal and help little boys
and girls
eat it!"
Not long after the big bad knife came to the bowl of the
first little
spoon. The big bad knife said to the first little spoon
"Little spoon,
little spoon, let me cut your ice cream!" The first little
spoon said
"Silly knife, every little spoon knows that boys and girls
do not cut
ice cream with a knife!" The knife did not listen and
cut the ice
cream anyway, and the little spoon ran away and hid in
the dishwasher.
Then the big bad knife went to the bowl of the second
little spoon.
The big bad knife said to the second little spoon "Little
spoon,
little spoon, let me cut your porridge!" The second little
spoon said
"Silly knife, every little spoon knows that boys and girls
do not cut
porridge with a knife!" The knife did not listen and cut
the porridge
anyway, and the little spoon ran away and hid in the dishwasher.
Then the big bad knife went to the bowl of the last little
spoon. The
big bad knife said to the last little spoon "Little spoon,
little
spoon, let me cut your cereal!" The last little spoon
said "Silly
knife, every little spoon knows that boys and girls do
not cut cereal
with a knife!" The knife did not listen and tried to cut
the cereal
anyway, but this time, the knife nicked himself on a nut
in the
cereal, and the knife ran away crying "Ouch! Ouch!".
The last little spoon went to the dishwasher and got his
brother and
sister spoons out and they helped little boys and girls
eat and were
never bothered by the big bad knife again.

Graduation Tidbit:
In 1988, The University of Wisconsin presented nearly 4,000 diplomas
to
graduates in May, but it took six months for someone to notice that
the name
of the state was misspelled "Wisconson".
