Before the U.S. Army corps of Engineers installed the dam to create Old Hickory Lake, there were smaller locks on the Cumberland River. Two of them were in Nashville and after the bigger dam was built, the locations of the two locks became city parks. This one is in Pennington Bend and seems to be actively cared for. The other one is in major disrepair.
