Nashville had a mental health hospital on Murfreesboro Rd. Dating back to 1851. First known as the Tennessee Hospital for the Insane, then the Central Hospital for the Insane, and today a more politically correct Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute. They relocated in 1995 and 3-4 years later the property was given to Dell for them to build their buildings on. Even still the guard post remains.
