Jim Nance McCord (March 17, 1879 – September 2, 1968) spent many years as the publisher and editor of the Marshall Gazette newspaper. From there, he served as mayor of Lewisburg, spent one term in the US Hours of Representatives, and then was Governor of Tennessee from 1945 to 1949.
