William Trousdale was the 13th Governor of Tennessee. The Democrat Lawyer served from 1849-1851, back when they were two year terms. Before that, he was a Brigadier General of the United States Army. His nickname was the "War Horse of Sumner County" Today, he is buried at the Gallatin City Cemetery. Other members of his family are buried within the fenced section.
